Basic Blank Service Billing Format (No-tax, Long Description) is a general purpose, service-oriented invoicing template that includes two editable columns (Description, Amount) and up to 5 items on the invoice detail section. Each row allows you to enter multiple lines of text.

This template is also a basic blank service invoice template that is based on c2012 Basic Blank Service Format (No-tax). It differs from the original c2012 invoice template in that it includes space for only 5 items on the invoice body. If your invoices are always have less than 5 items and each need a relatively long product description, this template works for you. A blank PDF invoice template is also available for Basic Blank Service Billing Format (No-tax, Long Description), which you can download free of charge from It is generated by using the "export to PDF format" feature that is built in with Microsoft Excel. If Invoice Manager for Excel is installed on your computer, this template, "Basic Blank Service Billing Format (No-tax, Long Description)" or "Basic Blank Service Billing Layout (No-tax, Long Description)", the "Extract/Email" command could also generate PDF invoice for you, or send electronic invoice in PDF (or Excel spreadsheet format, or image/PNG format) with email. This could be done by a simple clicking of mouse!

The "Extract/Email" command is located on the task pane when the "Invoice" worksheet is active. It works in two ways depending on the options you set on the "Extract/Email" tab of the Settings window. Firstly, it could extract the current invoicing form - this means that, a separate Excel workbook file will be created, and it contains only the current invoice. Secondly, it could also generate electronic invoice in Adobe PDF, Excel spreadsheet or image (PNG) format, and then send the invoice to the customer - when sending the invoice, Invoice Manager for Excel looks at the email field of the invoice itself, if not found then look at the customer record. The invoicing program is also able to send a BCC copy to the email address you specified on the Settings window. If any error occurred in the process of sending email, it records the error message with the invoice itself, which could be found when you open an invoice on the "Invoice Edit" window - by double clicking an invoice on the "Invoices" window, or by clicking the "View Detail" command on the task pane. On the other hand, if no error occurred in the process of sending email, the last balance due and sent date is recorded.

The template offers a blank form for you to fill in. Fixed content, like your own business name, address, contact etc., are locked so that you'll not overwrite them accidentally. Fillable content, like the invoice#, invoice date, customer information, service items, etc., are unlocked so that they are editable even when the form is protected. Without Invoice Manager for Excel installed, you should fill in all information by hand. With the help of Invoice Manager for Excel, filling an invoice is much simpler. You'll typically start by clicking the Clear & New command, which clears the invoice form so that it is ready for you to create a new invoice. After executing the "Clear & New" command, most editable fields are blank, but some of them are filled with default values. For example, the Invoice Date will be the current date, and the Sales Rep. Name, Shipping Date, Payment Term etc., are all filled with default value (if they appear on the invoice form).

Invoice Manager for Excel also helps on filling other content. For example, if you click a cell inside the "Bill To" section, an in-cell pick up button appears. Clicking on this button shows a list of all active customers, which you can click to choose from. The list of customers also includes a search bar, which allows you to search by any field of a customer, such as the name, address, city state and zip, phone, country, email, and all the custom fields you defined for your customers - if any.
