While it's easy enough to customize the tax options with the help of Invoice Manager for Excel form design tools, "Basic Blank Service Invoice Format (One-tax)" has this already set based on " c2012 Basic Blank Service Format (No-tax)", so that you can use directly without installing Invoice Manager for Excel.
Note that a Two-tax version is also available here on InvoicingTemplate.com, at Basic Blank Service Invoice Format (Two-tax). If you need less lines but more space for each item description on your blank service invoice template, see Basic Blank Service Billing Format (No-tax, Long Description), and the one tax format at Basic Blank Service Invoicing Format (One-tax, Long Description), and the two-tax layout at Basic Blank Service Bill Format (Two-taxes, Long Description).
Invoice Manager for Excel is a special invoicing software app that uses Excel invoice templates as the front-end. The program is implemented as an Excel add-in program that runs inside Microsoft Excel. So after installing Invoice Manager for Excel, you won't see a shortcut to the program as many other programs. What you'll see is a shortcut to the default invoicing format that is shipped with the setup program of Invoice Manager for Excel. This default invoicing template is just the sample of the templates supported by Invoice Manager for Excel. You can easily replace it with new templates available here on InvoicingTemplate.com. Simply download the template you like, extract the template (each template usually comes with a database file), and then double-click to open the template you like.
With "c2012 Basic Blank Service Format (No-tax)", we set up a simple and blank invoicing form for general needs of service businesses. It is suitable for many business types and we've already made the further customizations as less as possible. One required customization for some business owners is that the taxing type. If you prefer to use c2012 and need to charge one tax, install Invoice Manager for Excel and set the tax type on the Settings window. However if you don't have Invoice Manager for Excel installed, settings the tax type requires you to first unprotect the spreadsheet manually, and then unhide those hidden cells on the bottom of the invoicing form.
This configuration procedure isn't so basic and simple for someone who are not so familiar with Excel and Invoice Manager for Excel templates. To get the job even easier, we build this template "c2013 Basic Blank Service Invoice Format (One-tax)" or Basic Blank Service Invoice Layout (One-tax).
Like all the other templates available here on InvoicingTemplate.com, "c2013 Basic Blank Service Invoice Format (One-tax)" could be used standalone without Invoice Manager for Excel. But if Invoice Manager for Excel is installed, it not only turns the simple Excel billing template into a powerful invoicing system, but also helpful commands like "Design Mode" (which unprotect the sheet and push the "design mode" button on the "Developer" ribbon tab). The trial version of Invoice Manager for Excel is fully functional within the trial period, which you can download free of charge. So why don't download and give it a try?
With Invoice Manager for Excel installed, you can also set the tax name and rate on the Taxes tab of the Settings window. Without Invoice Manager for Excel installed, to use "Basic Blank Service Invoice Format (One-tax)", you may need to firstly unprotect the "Invoice" worksheet, and then type in your tax name and rate properly in the correct cells.
