With this blank service invoice template we applied green gradient effects to various titles and headings on the invoice form, resulting in a pastel and sophisticated design. The invoice layout support Excel themes so you can change the colors easily.
The logo image placed on the top-right corner of the form is a placeholder image that you should replace with your own logo image. To do this, with Invoice Manager for Excel installed all you need to do is to click the "Replace Logo Image" command on the "Customize and Design" group of the "Invoice" ribbon tab. If you don't see the "Invoice" ribbon tab after opening this blank service invoice template, make sure you have Invoice Manager for Excel installed.
Invoice Manager for Excel is our invoicing software that runs with desktop Windows and Microsoft Office / Excel. It is implemented as a COM add-in program that runs inside Excel, connects any compatible Excel invoice templates with back end database, providing features that could not be implemented with pure Excel templates, such as the on-sheet picker feature, in-cell lookup of customer, product or invoice records. The invoicing app also provides powerful reporting features - For example, with a few mouse clicks and then fill in the date range, you can generate a sales report for the specified date range. Unlike a pure-Excel invoicing solution, with Invoice Manager for Excel all the data are stored in a back end database, in either Microsoft Access or SQL Server format. With the Enterprise edition of Invoice Manager for Excel, you can also hosting the database online and connect it via Internet, which means that you can access and share your data across the world. See help document included in Invoice Manager for Excel to find out more information on how you can upsizing from Access to SQL Server and how to connect to online SQL Server.
All the template available here on InvoicingTemplate.com are compatible with Invoice Manager for Excel. Invoice Manager for Excel determines whether a template is compatible by looking for some hidden properties and values. So if you want to use your own invoice design / format with Invoice Manager for Excel, your best choice is to alert / customize one of our downloadable invoice templates, instead of create from scratch yourself.
As a general purpose blank service invoice template, the spreadsheet design provides fields such as invoice#, invoice date, a "Bill To" section where you can detail the client information, an "INTRODUCTIONS" field where you can write down a brief description of the service to perform. The "INTRODUCTIONS" field is actually the "Notes" field in the standard invoice template shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel installer program, which has a cell name of "oknNotes".
This template has two columns - "Description" and "Line Total", both are manually editable when the sheet is protected. A "Taxable" checkbox is also provided for each of the invoicing item, which allows you to control separately whether each item is taxable. If all your items are taxable (or not taxable), you may not need the "Taxable" options. If this is your situation, you can easily remove the "Taxable" options and then modify the tax formula to ignore this option.
To remove the "Taxable" options, follow the steps below.
- Backup your template.
- Click the "Design Mode" button on the "Invoice" ribbon tab.
- Click a "Taxable" checkbox to select it.
- Hit the DEL key on your keyboard to delete the selected checkbox control.
- Repeat the above steps to delete other "Taxable" controls.
- Exit design mode and save the template.
If you want to modify the tax formula to ignore the "Taxable" options, in design mode click to select the tax cell (which is named "oknTax1"). Excel formula bar shows the current tax formula, like "=ROUND( IF ( oknTaxType=0, 0 , oknTax1Rate * ( oknLineTotalTaxable + IF( oknTaxTotalIncludingShippingCost = 0 , 0 , oknShippingCost ) ) ) , 2 )". To have it ignore the taxable options, simply replace "oknLineTotalTaxable" with "oknSubtotal", so that the formula looks like "=ROUND( IF ( oknTaxType=0, 0 , oknTax1Rate * ( oknSubtotal + IF( oknTaxTotalIncludingShippingCost = 0 , 0 , oknShippingCost ) ) ) , 2 )".
As you can see it is fairly easy to customize the template if you are familiar with Microsoft Excel. Just like what we demonstrated in this Blank Service Invoice Format with Green Gradient Design, Microsoft Excel provides abundant tools for you to present your data (i.e. invoices). This, combines with back end database, makes it possible for you to have your very own professional invoicing system.
