This building contractor invoice template is decorated with an image on the form. The image shows a 3D puppet building a house, which is printable, and is included on PDF invoices too. Try this free template if you are a civil contractor in the construction industry.
This form is a member of our contractor invoice templates. The form layout is based on Mixed Tax Rates in an Invoice (7 Columns). We kept the main layout features found in the original form such as 7 columns, separately taxing on "Material" and "Labor". On the other hand, we also changed a lot in this new spreadsheet, besides the construction worker and house image.
First we applied a new Excel theme to this template. If you want to change the applied theme yourself, first switch to "Design Mode" by clicking the "Design Mode" button on the "Invoice" ribbon tab. Next, activate the "Page Layout" ribbon tab, pull down the "Themes" list and try / choose the one you like
Secondly, we changed the implementation of the drop-down list of item types. Each cell on the "Type" column is a drop-down list that allows you to choose from two possible values "Material" and "Labor". This is archived by using Excel's data validation feature. The source of the drop-down list (i.e. the allowed values) points directly to the tax names on the bottom of the form. This way, if you change the tax names on the "Taxes" tab of the "Settings" window, the allowed values of the drop-down list change too.
The proper tax rate applied to each item is determined by the value of each "Type" cell. The values of the "Tax Rate" cells shows the currently applied rate, which is calculated by using Excel's "VLookup" formula. For example on the first line, the tax rate is calculated using a formula shown below.
"$M$34:$N$35" is the area where it shows all the possible tax names and rates. The existing values are just placeholders. You have to change this before you use it for creating invoices. Visit an online resource, like Sales Tax Rates in Major U.S. Cities, or talk to a local tax authority. Visit our tax invoice formats for more samples.
If you are in the construction industry, we have several other template built for you. For example, c1005 Construction Contract Template with Watermark of Urban Buildings, c1001 Construction Proposal Template and c4046 Simple Invoice for Construction Business.
