This Excel form has 8 columns on the detail section, including "Product ID", "Side", "Description", "Qty", "Unit Price", "Extended Price" (usually called "Line total" or "Amount" on other templates available here on InvoicingTemplate.com), "Client" and "ADP". the "ADP" column is calculated automatically based "Extended Price" and "Client", using an Excel formula like this (note the question mark "?" here indicates the line number on the detail section):

"Country of Export", "Country of manufacture" and "Country of ultimate destination" also have their locations moved in order to use less lines on the vertical orientation. Like the original design, this template has 8 columns too - "Harm. code", "No. of pkgs" "Type of packaging", "Full description of goods", "Qty", "Units of measure" , "Weight", "Unit Value" and "Total Value". The "SHIPPER" and "DATE" fields on the bottom of the form are designed to be signed manually.

Note that the "Invoicing Templates" image on the top left corner of the invoicing form. This is a place holder of your own logo image, or you can delete it if you don't need. To do this, you first have unprotect the spreadsheet and switch to design mode.

However if you are not familiar with Photoshop or other image editing applications, you may find it is not easy and time-consuming to create an ideal logo image for use in your commercial invoices. One possible alternative way is to insert some WordArt as your logo image.

Second, choose a cell to place the Incoterms field. In this sample, we choose the range P38:P41. Clear the existing content / checkboxes. Name the "oknINCOTERM" and unlock it.

A pro forma invoice only needs to include sufficient information to allow for a determination of duties and examination. Since there is no required format for either type of invoice, a commercial invoice and a pro forma invoice may appear virtually identical or they may appear radically different. With the sample, a payment method option is added, which comprises 3 checkbox - "L/C", "T/T" and "Other" - where T/T means telegraphic transfer, or simply wire transfer; and L/C Letter of credit (See the screenshot). For international trade, this payment detail should be useful when it appear on the commercial invoices. Generally, every dutiable shipment sent through FedEx, DHL or UPS must be accompanied with an invoice. The invoice must identify the seller and buyer. It must also clearly indicate the terms and date of sale, quantity, weight and volume of the shipment. It must also indicate a complete description of the shipped goods, shipping, insurance and other charges, unit value and total value as applicable.

These fields - insurance and currency code, provides important information regarding the international shipping / freight and international trading. Since this is an estimate template, the "Payment" button in the Invoice Manager for Excel edition is actually useless. It is kept in case you need to convert this estimate template into an invoice template for billing and payments. Also there is one tax named GST on the bottom of the form, which you can easily modify or completely delete it once the invoice form is unprotected.

If you prefer this lightweight invoice layout but still want a logo image on the form, it is easy to add one if you have the latest version of Invoice Manager for Excel installed. To do this, simply click the "Replace logo image" command on the "Invoice" ribbon tab. This will open a dialog box that asks if you want to add a new logo image since there is no default logo image placeholder on the form. Confirm that you want to add a logo image, and then browse to and choose the your own logo image. The newly added logo image will be in design mode, which allows you to resize and move the image, and there are even more options you can use to adjust the image if you right-click the image and choose Properties. The options on the Properties pane are provided by Microsoft Excel, but not Invoice Manager for Excel. As you can see, one of the advantages of Invoice Manager for Excel, compared to other invoicing solutions, is that it utilizes the full power of Microsoft Excel, so that you can easily design / customize the invoice form with familiar tools. This lightweight sales invoice template, just like the other invoice templates available here on InvoicingTemplate.com, are just samples on how to customize the default invoice template shipped with the Invoice Manager for Excel installation program, although they could be used directly without any modifications.

Step 1: Before doing our customizing job, first you have to back up the template.

1. Drag your mouse to select the entire new "Print_Area". In this sample, it is $C$2:$L$48. Tip: you can just the the "Print_Area" name from the name box on the formula bar.
2. Right-click one of the select cell and choose "Format Cells".
3. Go to the "Border" tab.
4. From the "Style" list, choose the double-border style.
5. Choose a proper color.
6. In the "Border" section, click the borders respectively.
7. Click OK to close the "Format Cells" dialog box.

1. First you should unprotect the Invoice worksheet. Most templates designed by us here at InvoicingTemplate.com turn on protection to avoid damage to layouts and formulas by mistake. However before you can customize an invoice template, you should firstly unprotect it by clicking the Unprotect command on Excel Review ribbon tab.
2. Now drag your mouse to select the cell/cells you want to move.
3. Push your mouse key on the border of the selected area. Drag it to the new location where you want to place the cell/cells.
4. Once done, protect the Invoice worksheet.

The other two custom fields on the form include "Site Code" and "Project". The 4 columns on the invoice detail section include "Description", "Quantity", "Unit Price" and "Amount". Each row on the invoice body section allows about 3 lines of text. The text on the item cells are formatted as left alignment on horizontal, and middle on vertical.

So to create this blue gradient bar, we followed the steps below.

This revised version does not change the column definitions of the original receipt template. There are still 7 columns on the form - "Room #", "Name", "Check in", "Check out", "# of Nights", "Price / Night" and "Line Total".
