This free Excel invoice template demonstrates how Invoice Manager for Excel works with online Microsoft SQL Server database connections (instead of the default Microsoft Access database).
The "Net" edition of Invoice Manager for Excel supports sharing data via local area network, but it is not able to connect to online data sources (i.e. data that accessible via Internet).
The "Enterprise" edition supports SQL Server that could be running either on local area network, or running on Internet. By sharing your data via Internet, you can always access your invoicing system, even when you are out of office or on the road, with a mobile device connecting to the Internet. See differences between editions for more information.
This template has exactly the same invoice format as the one shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel version 5. However, instead of connecting to the local "Sample.mdb" Access database, it connects to our remote testing MS SQL Server database running online, to give you an easy way to test how online invoicing works. Feel free to visit our online invoicing templates gallery.
This database server is created for testing purpose only. So don't store your real business data using this database.
This SQL Server is located at Arizona, so it may not be as speedy as you want depending on where you are.
To find out more information on how to migrate your Access database to online using SQL Server, visit the tutorial document included in Invoice Manager for Excel help file. To find it:
- Open your invoice template as usual.
- Click the "Help" button on the ribbon tab.
- On the left-side navigation pane, located the "Common Tasks" node. Expand it and open "Migrate Access Databases to SQL Server".
