Packing List Template

A packing list is also known as shipping list and packing slip, and is included with product shipments to detail the contents for the recipient. Packing list can also be used as Bill of Lading that shows the information about order delivery.

The free Packing List Template is provided in Excel spreadsheet format, and like all the other templates on here on InvoicingTemplate.com, it is created by modifying the default invoice template shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel setup program, which make it works seamlessly with Invoice Manager for Excel. The packing slip template is designed to look professional and classic. The spreadsheet automatically calculates weight totals. The template has fields for Packing List Number, Shipping Date, Customer ID, Ship To Address, Payment Terms, Shipping Method, and for each shipped product, you can detail the Product #, Description and Quantity. On the bottom of the form, there is also a notes field that allows you to enter any comments regarding the order and shipment.

Packing list can make your work really easy so it is essential to design it before heading to your journey. Advantages of the shipping packing list are that it helps to tally the items at different stages of shipment like from local cargo to airport. Then at airports it is useful for custom clearing of the shipment as it is easy to handle if package is accompanying the packing list. It also helps the cargo and shipping company office abroad to receive goods. Finally it is useful for the receiving party to tally the items with the available list to verify that the shipment is accurate and contain all the items in the good state as sent.

If you use the freeware version of our packing list template, there is no need to install Invoice Manager for Excel. But if you need those advanced features, such as management of customers, products, invoices and payments, or want to be able to convert an invoice to a packing list, installing Invoice Manager for Excel is necessary. The trial version of Invoice Manager for Excel works for 30 days, within this period you can test it to see if it meets your business requirements.

Packing Slip Form was created by modifying the default sales invoice template that shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel; you can still customize it to meet your business requirements and corporate style. It is easy to do with Microsoft Excel. For example, to change the background / pattern of a text label, you can just right-click the cell and then choose Format Cells, and then choose the background or pattern from the dialog box.

The template has a default Logo image on the top-left corner. This is a placeholder for your own logo image. To replace it with your own logo, first switch to design mode and then right-click the default image and choose Properties. Click the button on the "Picture" line, choose the image want to use on this Packing List Template.

The template is designed to print packing lists on standard A4 paper. If you want to change this, or simply change the paper orientation, open the Page Setup dialog box in Excel. Note that if you change the paper size or orientation, it is usually necessary to adjust the cells and fields on the form too. This is often a time consuming work, but Excel has another neat tool for you - the Print Preview mode that allows you to have a look at what the printed document will look like without actually printing it out.
