"Sample Sales Invoice Template: Using Signature" is a sample invoice that demonstrates how to add handwriting signature images to the printable invoice form. Images, photos or pictures provides an easy way to make your invoices stand out.

This sample sales invoice template was original published on, at Invoice Template Sample - Using Handwriting Signature in Your Invoices. We've tested this template here at and released it in two editions - the first template falls into the sales invoice template category that has shipping fields included, and the second template falls into the service invoice template category and has the shipping fields excluded. Each version of the template has two documents offered here - a freeware invoice template that you can use without the installation of Invoice Manager for Excel, and another one that should be used with Invoice Manager for Excel installed. Invoice Manager for Excel is our invoicing software that has the ability to turn a simple Excel invoice template into a complete invoicing program, with the features such as managing customers, products, invoices and payments.

Since the sample invoice template is in Microsoft Excel format, you can in fact add any number of images to the printable invoice form. The default logo image, for example, is added to the form as an ActiveX image object. This invoice template added a handwriting signature image due to its popular demands we received during the past several years.

Since we've already added the handwriting signature image to the printable form, you don't have to add another ActiveX image control in order to use your own signature image. In order to use this sample sales invoice template, what you need to do is to replace our sample signature image with your own image, just like what you'll do with the default logo image.

So, here is the description from Invoice Manager for Excel documents that details how to replace the default logo image. Replacing the signature image on the Sample Sales Invoice Template: Using Handwriting Signature form involves exactly the same steps.

If you don't like our way to add/replace images described above, but prefer to copy and paste the image directly into the printable invoice form, one additional step must be taken to make the blank invoice template works with Invoice Manager for Excel, that is to name the image / control with "oknWidget_" prefix. Only the images controls with the "oknWidget_" prefix will be included extracted invoices. All the other controls, such as those command buttons on the top of the form, the icon buttons, will be removed if you execute the "Extract/Email" command in Invoice Manager for Excel.

Your business is unique, so that you invoices should be. Adding a signature image is a good and easy way to go.   • Applied the "brown" color style.
  • Fine-tuned the line heights. The form looks neat than before.
  • Moved the "Ship To" label so that it is now placed on top-left corner of the section.
  • Aligned the button on the sheet top so that they are distributed horizontally and vertically with equal space between them.
  • Removed the hyperlink on the "phone number" line. Added a hyper link to the logo placeholder image.
  • Renamed the default tax names from "GST" and "PST" to "State Tax" and "District Tax". The rates are set to 7.25% and 0.10%. This is the rate of California. Visit California City & County Sales & Use Tax Rates for more information.
  • Optimized the print result. Now the form is printed on the center of a paper, both vertically and horizontally.
