Whether your consulting business is running as a personal consultant or a group of consultants, to get paid timely you'll have to issue consulting invoices. A template like this one helps you done the job easily.

Many consulting fields are not regulated. For example, anyone can claim to be a marketing consultant, tech support consultant, business management consultant, public relations consultant, writer, editor or graphic designer. As a result, the invoicing format used by different businesses vary depending on the special requirements in each field. Generally, consulting invoices are categorized as service invoices. This template "General Purchase Billing Template (Consulting, One Tax)" is designed as a general one where the amount on each line is manually fillable. There are templates that calculates the line totals based on the number of hours and hourly rate too, for example invoice Template Hourly Rate - Top 10 Results, Invoice Template with Hours and Rate, and Beautiful Service Invoice Template with Hourly Rate.

There is also a Taxable column on the invoice details section. If you have Invoice Manager for Excel installed and your billable items are saved as products, the taxable boxes are also filled automatically when you pick products from saved items.

The taxable option boxes are created using Microsoft Office form controls. Each box control has the "oknWidget_" prefix in its name, so that when you click the "Extract/Email" button to extract an invoice, the taxable box will be included too.

The taxable boxes controls whether each item on the detail section are taxable. Check a box to have the amount of the current item included on tax calculation, and uncheck a box to have the current line excluded from tax calculation. This design makes it clear and simple if you have both items that are taxable and not taxable.

If you items are always taxable or not taxable, you may find the additional taxable column redundant. If this is the case you can move all the taxable check boxes out of the printable invoice form. To do this, first switch to design mode by clicking the "Design Mode" button on the "Invoice" ribbon tab, and then select one tax box, or select all taxable boxes by push CTRL key on your keyboard and click each box. And then, you can drag the boxes out of the printable area.

The "Project Summary" box is in fact the "oknNotes" field defined by the default invoice template shipped with Invoice Manager for Excel. It can also create it as a custom field if you prefer. See the help document included in Invoice Manager for Excel help file.

On the bottom of the form, the field near "I certify that services have been provided/completed as described above - Signature of Consultant" is a text label. It is not defined in database, but designed for manually signature. If you don't need this, it is safe to delete all these labels.
